Stretton Charities are a local charity based in the Warwickshire village of Stretton on Dunsmore.
The Stretton Charities are comprised of nine individual charities of varying age and value that were formally administered separately but are now managed by the trustees. For at least four hundred years and probably much longer, land within Stretton has been set aside for the benefit of the poor, this has been added to over the years by property within the village and elsewhere.
In 1999, the Trustees proposed the Charity Commission that a new Scheme be introduced to reflect the changes in society and the needs of the village since the existing 1859 scheme. The proposal was for the Trustees to manage all nine of the charities and to distribute donations to two principle objects, ‘Education’ and ‘Relief in Need’.
